The GoPro Hero 13 Black has some noteworthy features that are worth mentioning. As someone who prefers to color grade in post-production software, I appreciate the new and improved Log video support. In fact, I would go as far as to say that this is the best Log profile I have seen in an action camera. Additionally, the Hero 13 Black has a new slow-motion burst mode that can record 5.3K footage at 120 frames per second. While it only lasts for five seconds, it is perfect for capturing quick moments like your child going off a jump on their bike or diving into the pool.
Another significant improvement in video quality is the addition of HDR support and hybrid log-gamma (HLG) HDR video. The previous version’s HDR support was not great, but HLG HDR is a widely used open-source format that offers better compatibility with non-wide-color-gamut displays. The footage also looks much better than before.
