AIIMS and Wipro GE Healthcare Pvt Ltd have joined forces to advance the use of AI in the healthcare sector. AIIMS will serve as the clinical partner, providing valuable clinical inputs and serving as a real-world environment for evaluating and deploying GE Healthcare’s AI-enabled solutions. Wipro GE Healthcare will invest $1 million in developing intelligent systems and workflow solutions for key clinical areas such as cardiology, oncology, and neurology. This partnership aims to improve patient outcomes and streamline clinical workflows, ultimately transforming patient care and operational efficiency in the medical field. A joint working committee will oversee the collaboration, focusing on clinical research and academic engagement. According to The National AI Portal of India (INDIAai), AI technology has the potential to boost India’s GDP by $25-30 billion by 2025. By integrating AI with longitudinal data and analytics, this collaboration aims to significantly enhance diagnosis accuracy, streamline operations, and improve patient care nationwide. This partnership holds strategic value and is aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat through advanced healthcare, as stated by Dr M Srinivas, director of AIIMS. Parminder Bhatia, chief AI officer at GE HealthCare, believes that AI is a transformative force that can democratise healthcare and enable increased predictiveness, prevention, and precision.
